"Targeted training as the key to success" - How ZAG makes employees fit for the future
Insights from Sepken Gencel-Franke, Managing Director at ZAG
Further training and continuous development are firmly anchored at ZAG - as demonstrated by the comprehensive training concept that all employees undergo. Sepken Gencel-Franke, Managing Director at ZAG, provides insights into how the company prepares its teams for the challenges of today and tomorrow.
Compulsory seminars for a strong start
All newcomers, whether career changers or experienced specialists, complete four mandatory seminars in the first six months. These focus on sales and acquisition, recruiting, legal principles and scheduling - always combined with system training. After around a year, business management content and personal development follow, with the Structogram training programme being particularly popular with participants. Managers receive targeted training in profitability and modern management.
Wide range of training formats - from face-to-face seminars to virtual classrooms
"We focus primarily on face-to-face training, both in individual and group settings," explains Gencel-Franke. The offering is supplemented by online and hybrid formats such as webinars, workshops, individual coaching sessions and virtual classrooms. Most on-site seminars take place at the company's own academy and competence centre in Hanover.
Practical training with a high degree of interaction
Direct exchange is important to the company: seminars and workshops offer space for intensive dialogue with lecturers and participants from different regions. Individual coaching sessions enable personalised support. "Practical exercises and case studies play a crucial role," says Gencel-Franke. "We simulate real-life situations in role plays in order to develop and practise solutions together."
Challenges? - No problem thanks to expertise and flexibility
The planning and realisation of internal training courses runs smoothly thanks to competent and flexible teams.
Long-term transfer into practice
To ensure that what is learned has a lasting effect, the face-to-face seminars are followed by an accompanying programme of online training, coaching and webinars within around three weeks. ZAG also flexibly adapts the content to market requirements and individual employee needs.
Expertise for the future
Gencel-Franke predicts clear priorities for the next five years: "Market knowledge and close on-site customer support will remain indispensable. The sales force plays a central role." Open communication and partnership-based dialogue with customers and employees are essential. "As a personnel service provider, we have to act in a solution-orientated and advisory manner." Thanks to targeted seminars, coaching programmes and close support in the branches, the teams are ideally equipped for the future. The broad product portfolio also makes it possible to tap into different customer groups.
How does ZAG decide what to train?
The training topics are geared towards HR services, current market conditions and the individual skills and abilities of employees.
